ABOUT FROSTING

FROSTING is the sonic vision of Mark “SPIV” Grzelak, a lifelong Chicago rock-and-roll native.   Proud of his history with bands like Simple Simon, Blackmaker, and Javelinas, SPIV set out to create something boldly different.  Drawing inspiration from a modern, Fleetwood Mac-esque songwriting approach- infused with more grit, fresh musicianship, and a commanding female vocal presence- FROSTING was born.

The bands first two releases Fresh Frosting and Frosting II,  arrived with force, immediately establishing FROSTING as a band to watch.  Packed with infectious hooks, soaring vocal melodies and deeply rooted, guitar-driven rock-and-roll, the records laid a powerful creative foundation. 

With the addition of long time friend, Gina Ruzicka- bringing her powerhouse vocals and magnetic stage presence from American Idol  and The Gina Glocksen Band-  alongside the rock-solid rhythm section of Joe Ruzicka (bass/vocals) and Rich Dang (drums), the current incarnation of FROSTING is truly something to experience.

Now deep into writing and recording their 3rd album, the energy within the band is electric and relentlessly positive.
